Charlie Wagner   

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Vertex Pharmaceuticals 

Charles (Charlie) Wagner is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Vertex Pharmaceuticals. In this role, which he has held since 2019, he oversees accounting, finance, internal audit, investor relations, business development transactions, and global real estate. Charlie brings over a decade of CFO experience in both public and private sectors, having previously served as CFO at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Bruker Corporation, Progress Software Corporation, and Millipore Corporation. He has also served as an advisor at Bain & Company and Coopers & Lybrand, and as a board director at Good Start Genetics and Bruker Corporation.  

   

Currently, Charlie is on the board of The TJX Companies, Inc. and a member of its audit and finance committee. In recognition for his leadership in promoting inclusion and equity, he was named to the global Empower Role Model Top 50 Advocate List in 2023 and 2024. Charlie holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Boston College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
